  • Due to the recent increase in the Special Assessment for Alum Treatments in Alden but not in Star Prairie, the Board has decided to return the increase for Alden residents. Please see the minutes from the Board Meeting on January 27 (on the Cedar Lake website, cedarlakewi.org), for a more detailed discussion of this issue. We provide a brief description of the Special Assessment for Alum in the attached link here. View Assessment Process.
  • The Lake District is looking for a new Clean Boats Clean Waters coordinator for this summer. This is a paid part time position and would be a perfect fit for a responsible student or someone who is retired. Anyone interested can contact Dan Early at early.danielj@gamil.com or you can contact any board member (contact info can be found on this website under "Contacts")
  • TO ALL CEDAR LAKE RESIDENTS! PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR DOCKS AND LIFTS FOR THE PRESENCE OF ZEBRA MUSSELS.  More information and photos can be found on this website.  If anything looks suspicious please contact any member of the board (in Contacts above) or Polk County or the Wisc. DNR (contact info on this website).
  • The Town of Alden applied for a DNR grant to help pay for replacing the north landing concrete ramp and add a handicap accessible dock with a HC parking space. The grant application was not successful; therefore there will be no work at the  landing this year.  Alden is currently evaluating whether to re-apply for funding next year.  More information will follow as it becomes available.
  • A number of property owners in the Cedar Lake District are (or may be considering) renting their homes, or rooms in their homes, to other people, using services such as VRBO, AirBnB or directly themselves, as vacation rentals.  All property owners should be aware that there are restrictions and ordinances governing this activity.  Both Polk and St. Croix counties have ordinances for "Tourist Rooming Houses" that govern this use.  For anyone considering this activity please remember to check the Land Use Ordinances for each county.  Links to each county's website can be found in "Links", above.
